I once potted a tree to replace someone I lost. It was my way of keeping their heart beating someplace close, someplace tangible. Recently rather than cooping myself up in my room all day, I’ve been spending a lot of time downstairs instead. I’ve noticed that I’m a lot happier. I’m spending quality time with my mother.
